The Western Kentucky Raptor Center (WKRC) is a non profit organization dedicated to the conservation of birds of prey through public education of their role in our environment, rehabilitation of injured and orphaned raptors, reconditioning and release using falconry techniques.

Founded in 2006, the WKRC is dedicated to increasing the awareness of the role raptors play in our environment through educational programs given at many local schools as well as at Yellow Creek Park.  In a recent partnership with Owensboro Community & Technical College, our goal of further education of the public is being realized with Micah Perkins at the helm of our community programs.

We have participated in Talks at UK Ag day in Princeton, KY., The Owensboro Museum of Science and History, Daviess County Fish and Game Club and the Active Day program here in Owensboro. All this activity, on top of our weekly program given at Yellow Creek Park Nature Center on Sunday afternoon has made this the most rewarding summer yet for our program.
