The Western Kentucky Raptor Center is a non
profit organization dedicated to the conservation of birds of prey
through public education, rehabilitation of injured or orphaned
raptors and the reconditioning and release of those raptors utilizing
falconry techniques.
Our facility is located at Yellow Creek park where we are
rapidly growing and will continue to grow as more people in the
community learn the appropriate methods of working with birds in
the wild.
Established in 2006, the WKRC has worked diligently with the community
of Owensboro and surrounding areas to educate the public on the
importance of birds of prey in our environment and how the conservation
of native species is integral to the health and sustainability of
our ecosystem. |
