Minutes of Board Meeting – 2/25/08

• New Patient: Great Horned Owl:

-Severely emaciated.

-No broken bones per x-ray by Marsh 2/25/08.

-Given Ivermectin 2/25/08. .2mL is the dosage for barred owls, red tails, etc. the average size that we have at WKRC.

-Sevin on 2/24/08.

• Reggie to discuss Earth day.

   Next step is to meet with Ross to discuss arrangement of tents. There is, apparently, some money that we can tap into for this event.

Booths so far:

- Don Moore will bring two hybrids.

- Justin is looking into the Sierra Club.

- Sister Amelia to discuss green building at Maple Mount.

- Bike run from 2-4.

- Quality Bike is going to set up a commuter bike.

Look into volunteers for the event.

WKRC will hold 2 raptor talks – 1 would be on the raptor center with Nemo. The second would be a falconry talk with Paul/Eric/Don, etc.

We’re looking for a length of 12-4.

• Contact Audubon Society about participating in Earth Day 2008.

• Contact colleges to see if we can get them to show up for Earth Day 2008.

• Schedule time with Ross to discuss power and layout, etc.

• Look into tree planting

   - County conservation office contacted, they are interested.
